1. Sita’s Swayamvar scene in the Ramayana teaser
The first intriguing scene in the Ramayana teaser features Sita’s Swayamvar. The manner in which this scene has been depicted is truly remarkable. The teaser shows actor Ranbir Kapoor—in the avatar of Ram—breaking Lord Shiva’s bow during Sita’s Swayamvar. Just moments before this occurs, the golden-yellow sunlight streaming in from the background creates a visually stunning effect. Although the teaser does not showcase the entire Swayamvar sequence, the glimpses provided are absolutely magnificent. The teaser also captures Ram’s grand entry, followed by a shower of flower petals. This particular scene promises to be one of the most exciting highlights of the film.
2. From wearing the crown to a 14-year exile
Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana teaser features meticulous attention to detail. As revealed in the released teaser, the footage offers glimpses spanning from the moment Lord Rama is crowned to his departure for a 14-year exile in the forest. In this 2-minute, 38-second teaser, we see Arun Govil—portraying King Dasharatha—crowning Ranbir Kapoor; subsequently, however, the crown is no longer visible on the head of Ranbir, who plays the role of Rama. This sequence in the teaser indicates that the film will also depict the narrative of Lord Rama’s journey into exile.
3. Protection of the Sages from Demons in the Dandaka Forests
The teaser for ‘Ramayana’ also features the scene depicting how Lord Rama protected the sages and hermits while living in the forests. The Dandaka Forest was inhabited by demons such as Maricha, Khara, Dushana, and Viradha, who used to torment the sages. During his fourteen-year exile, Lord Rama vanquished these demons and protected the sages residing in the forest. A glimpse of this sequence was showcased in the film’s teaser, underscoring the meticulous attention to detail that the filmmakers have invested in ‘Ramayana’.
4. Jatayu’s Funeral Rites
Moreover, the Ramayana teaser features a scene in which Ranbir Kapoor—portraying Lord Rama—is first seen standing in a river, performing a ritualistic immersion using a small vessel. Subsequently, he is shown lighting the funeral pyre. Thus, this particular sequence in the film appears to allude to the scene depicting Jatayu’s funeral rites. Although the teaser does not explicitly confirm that the funeral being performed is indeed for Jatayu, it is widely interpreted as such. Consequently, it has now become incredibly exciting to anticipate how the film will depict Jatayu sacrificing his life in the defence of Mother Sita.
5. Hanuman’s Meeting with Lord Rama
The Ramayana teaser also recounts the meeting between Hanuman and Lord Rama. Hanuman and Rama met on Mount Rishyamukha—located near Kishkindha (present-day Hampi)—where Hanuman had appeared in the guise of a sage. In this context, the film’s teaser depicts how, upon entering the forest, Ranbir hears a voice calling out to him. This suggests that the film will indeed feature a scene depicting the meeting between Hanuman and Rama.
6. The Enchanted Deer and the Abduction of Sita
Another remarkable detail visible in the teaser for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is the inclusion of the enchanted deer and the abduction of Sita. The footage depicts how Mother Sita becomes captivated by the magical deer, prompting Lord Rama to set out to capture it. In the interim, Ravana abducts Mother Sita. A brief glimpse of this scene is also featured in the teaser.
7. Ravana’s Pushpak Vimana

Another remarkable scene from the Ramayana teaser has been unveiled, offering a glimpse of Ravana—though his face remains unseen. However, Ravana’s Pushpak Vimana is prominently featured, depicted in a truly magnificent manner. From Ravana’s golden Lanka to his aerial chariot, every detail is on display. This is the very same Pushpak Vimana in which he abducts Mother Sita.
Namit Malhotra Calls ‘Ramayana’ ‘Destiny’
During the teaser launch of ‘Ramayana,’ the film’s producer, Namit Malhotra, shared his experiences and thoughts on the movie. He remarked that while films are made every day, ‘Ramayana’ is a matter of destiny—much like Lord Rama’s own destiny. The producer asserted that this is not merely a film, but rather takdeer (destiny), and it is a story that belongs to all of us—one that beats within the heart of every Indian. He believes, “If one is granted the opportunity to make a film on this subject, one must understand that they have been chosen. It is the culmination of my experiences over the past three years.”
War Erupts Between Prabhas and Ranbir’s Fans
However, after watching the teaser, a large section of the audience appeared disappointed. Many began comparing it to Prabhas’s flop film Adipurush, which was also based on the Ramayana. Meanwhile, some users even started comparing the looks of Ranbir and Prabhas. This, however, did not sit well with Prabhas’s fans, who took to social media to defend their favourite actor fiercely.
As soon as the Ramayana teaser was released, a virtual war broke out between the fanbases of Prabhas and Ranbir. One user created a parody video with the caption: “Save this video right now; it will come in handy later.” The video depicts the cast of Adipurush chasing after Om Raut, seemingly to attack him.
Conversely, responding to users who were praising Ranbir in his portrayal of Ram, some fans posted: “Prabhas was born to achieve something far greater than all of this. None of this matters to him.”
